This compact, intelligent and fully autonomous airbag system integrates into the structure of a lightweight chest protector, delivering unprecedented upper-body coverage.

Ready for the most demanding riding conditions

Developed on the back of MotoGP, the Dakar Rally and thousands of hours of MX and Supercross data, the Tech-Air® MX reacts with pinpoint accuracy at lightning speed. Its intelligent crash algorithm detects crashes and activates the airbag in around 40 milliseconds, giving the rider crucial extra protection in a fraction of a second.

Multiple riding modes – complete protection for every offroad discipline

Choose from a standard MX mode plus two fully customisable MY RIDE modes (MX RACE, ENDURO, RALLY), which you can adjust via the Tech-Air® app or the LED display. Pick your riding style and track conditions, then let the system handle the rest. If you feel the vest deploys too easily, you can simply tweak it to suit your needs.

Even without its airbag function, the Alpinestars Tech-Air® MX shoulder protector works as a traditional chest protector with Level 1 protection for the back and sternum. The protector is approved for competition use and continues to protect your upper body even after deployment. That means you can, for example, ride a race moto to the finish line even if the vest activates after a crash.
