Alpinestars TECH 10 Motocross Boot!

Since the new boot’s pivot offers more range of motion to the ankle than the old model, where the pivot was only on the outer side, a movement-stopping element has been added to the front of the boot. As the name suggests, it prevents the ankle tendons from hyperextending.
• Dynamic Heel Compression Protector – The built-in heel protector is injection-moulded from impact-absorbing materials and provides protection in the sole of the boot during extremely hard impacts. This feature was developed in the Supercross series together with professional riders to reduce injuries to the ankle and heel area.

The Tech 10’s inner boot has also received plenty of updates. First of all, the inner boot is now thicker throughout and offers better cushioning. The hyperextension limiters at the ankle of the inner boot also allow more room for a natural range of motion than the previous model, while still preventing harmful hyperextension. The inner boot is definitely more comfortable, less noticeable and easier to put on than in the previous model. Inner boots are also sold separately, so by buying a second pair you can slip into fresh, dry boots for another moto without having to buy a whole new pair of boots.

The new Tech 10 is up to 400 grams lighter than its predecessor, even though the boot has gained plenty of new protective features. This has been achieved by examining the materials in every part of the boot. The buckles alone save around 100 g by switching to forged aluminium, which also guarantees better durability than its predecessor. The boot’s exterior dimensions have also been trimmed down, so the new boot is now more comfortable to ride in, offers better feel and is also better suited to riders with larger shoe sizes. The boot’s shaft is slightly shorter, giving more room for the increasingly common knee braces. The instep section is now also lower, making gear changes easier, and the boot’s sole material has been redesigned for improved grip.
