Miten D3O toimii?
Materiaali sisältää älykkäitä molekyylejä, jotka liikkuessaan kelluvat vapaana, mutta iskun vaikutuksesta lukkiutuvat yhteen ja vastaanottavat iskuvoiman vapautuen taas välittömästi joustavaan tilaansa. D3O ei mene kovaksi iskusta, vaan molekyylit lukkiutuvat toisiinsa ja jakavat voiman, mikä vähentää huomattavasti iskun vaikutusta.
D3O jakaa iskuvoiman, mikä vähentää ratkaisevasti iskusta välittyvää voimaa ja minimoi näin loukkaantumisriskiä sekä varusteiden vahingoittumista.
Suojaominaisuudet säilyvät toistuvissakin iskuissa.
